Yule is the Winter Solstice and in the Celtic Wheel of the Year, the time of the Solar energy's rebirth.  We are at the threshold of both the longest night of the year and the promise of the Sun gaining potency and strength. Hope returns to the land after a long dark winter for the warmer months to come. 
Yule is the portal of rebirth with the womb of Gaia now incubating the solar seeds of possibility after resting fallow in darkness. She now transmutes into the womb that holds the seed Spring to come.
